1. Established by Kam Thye Chow in 1995, Lotus Palm School was one of the first and is now the foremost Thai Yoga Massage school in North America.

4. For 12 years we have trained all our teachers one-on-one, and have refined our techniques to make them part of a tradition that we're ready to pass on to you in this one-month intensive program.

The skill and art of teaching do not consist simply of understanding the subject matter; it is so much more than postures to be learned and repeating them to the students.

At Lotus Palm, the art of transmission is at the heart of our expertise. Our aim is for students to feel confident about the material and their ability to achieve the goals set by the course, and to learn in a fun, supportive environment. This is a skill that we have been refining and passing on to our senior teachers for more than 12 years.

What distinguishes a good class from a great class, or a good teacher from an excellent one? It is the subtle awareness of all the finer details continuously evolving during a class, and how to adapt and nurture the teaching space for optimal results. As such, topics like classroom management and proper communication skills are essential to becoming an outstanding teacher. The training will continually reinforce these techniques.

The Teacher Training Program provides participants with all the necessary components to be successful in the teaching and practice of Thai Yoga Massage, such as theoretical and practical tools for establishing a business plan. Students will also benefit from the Lotus Palm Teacher Training Guidebook included with the course, detailing Lotus Palm's time proven teaching practices in order to pass on our passion for Thai Yoga Massage and our unique approach to teaching.

In addition to the Lotus Palm Teacher Training Manual, the Program will cover the following subjects, among others:

• Lotus Palm teaching approach and methodology
• Business marketing and workshop management
• Teaching & Communication Skills
• Classroom management
• Class and massage safety and contraindications
• Basic anatomy
• Ethics
• The Lotus Wellness System
• Yoga, nutritional practices and meditation

In Part 1, participants learn how to teach the equivalent of the Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Massage form currently taught in our 3-hour and 2-day Thai Yoga Massage courses.

In Part 2 participants expand on lessons learned in Part 1, equipping them with the necessary skills to teach the equivalent of the Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Massage form currently taught in our 5-day "Thai Yoga Massage 1" intensive course.

Students participating in the Teacher Training Program will receive a certificate upon successful completion, but the Lotus Palm experience doesn't end there! We are here to support your endeavors and help turn your learning experience into a professional career by keeping you updated on the latest postures or techniques, and by providing updated course and administrative materials designed especially for Lotus Palm teachers. Most importantly, students of the Teacher Training Program will be equipped to teach the internationally recognized Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Massage form.

Prerequisites and Eligibility

In order to preserve the integrity of Thai Yoga Massage and in recognition of the dedication required to be a successful teacher, certain requirements and prerequisites for the program have been established.

• Minimum 100 hours of prior Thai Yoga Massage training, any school (equivalent to the Lotus Palm Essential Practitioner Certification), and
• Minimum 1 year as a Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner or 100 documented massages.

Students are not required to have taken Lotus Palm courses. However, we strongly recommended that applicants wishing to participate in the Teacher Training Program take at least Thai Yoga Massage 1 in order to familiarize themselves with the terminology and practices of our school.

In addition, students of other Thai Yoga Massage schools who have completed at least 30 hours of training are eligible for 50% discount on our Thai Yoga Massage 1 course.

Application form

All candidates must complete the application form which includes a letter of intention expressing their interest in Thai Yoga Massage, and how they plan to apply the lessons learned in this program.

Final acceptance into the program is at the discretion of Lotus Palm administration and qualified applicants will be accepted on a 'first come, first served' basis until all spaces are filled.

Should an application be declined, the applicant will be allowed to appeal the decision.

Course Completion

After taking Part 1, students have two years to complete Part 2, at which time they may receive their certificate.

The Program is available in two convenient formats, to provide students the flexibility in regards to their prior commitments and personal schedules: Parts 1 and 2 are offered as a single, month-long course. Students may equally elect to register for Part 1 only, and take Part 2 at a later date.

Daily schedule
Each day will begin with guided meditation, yoga and massage. This will be followed with teachings on various topics related to the relevant course content.

Friday evenings (7:30 - 9:00 pm) feature an extended program including Satsangs, special lectures, and community bonding.
