Recipe of the Month

Homemade Tomato Sauce

Here is a recipe for homemade tomato sauce for the lazy types like me!

I opted for a lazy method I invented when last September I found myself with a 60 lbs box of beautiful plum tomatoes, fresh garlic and espelette peppers that I found at the Jean-Talon market, all grown in Quebec!

See the recipe on our blog

Life is Good!

I arrived in Cuba looking rather pale and a few hours later (early morning) I walked to the beach and sat to read. It was me, the endless stretch of sand, the gentle waves of the ocean, and a tiny crab by my feet. I thought to myself "It doesn’t get better than this!"

My daily routine for the next few days was to wake up early, go to the beach, have breakfast, go to the beach, have lunch, go to the beach, have dinner and go to bed. I had it down pat! I was proud of myself, and would at times reward myself with a cold lemonade. Well deserved! After all, I was enduring blue skies, a warm ocean and perfect weather.

I returned to Montreal looking like liquid gold and a few hours later I was running around preparing for our Lotus Palm 20th Anniversary Celebration. It was me, Véro, an angel cake, soba noodles, and some sesame seeds at on fingertips. I thought to myself "It doesn’t get stickier than this!"

Our next hours were spent rushing to set up, running around, welcoming people, running around, refilling drinks, running around, laughing and eating. We had it down pat! We were proud of ourselves and would at times reward ourselves with a yummy piece of cake. Well deserved! After all, we were enduring happy people, good food and one of the most magical Kirtans ever.

As the night went down and people trickled out, I sat outside in the backyard with my feet up and a cold lemonade in my hand. Letting the images of the evening gently unfold, I thought to myself "It doesn’t get better than this!”
