Practical Uses For:

Tropical Basil Essential Oil

Did you know that tropical basil has digestive, antispasmodic and anti-stress properties?

For digestive disorders and spasms, dilute tropical basil essential oil in a vegetable oil such as grapeseed oil, sunflower or almond and massage your abdomen (use about 8 drops of essential oil in a table spoon of vegetable oil).

To calm the anxiety and nervousness, use it in olfaction or inhalation: by diffusion in the air or use 2 drops of essential oil on a handkerchief and breathe in slowly and gently.

Being Happy!

The Toronto Yoga Conference had gotten quite big this year! The air was buzzing with the newest things in yoga and the who who's of the yoga world were there doing workshops. Yoga for the mind, yoga dance for the body, music for the soul. My Vata mind was overloaded, my Pittaness was trying to help me stay focused, and my Kapha side was telling me to chill.

At one point, a group of people gathered in front of our booth excitedly chatting. They were catching up and were talking about how they were doing, how far they have come, what new projects they were on, and I couldn't help getting caught up in their excitement! Wow, I was so impressed with these movers and shakers!

Something made me turn around, and what I saw made me smile. My Lotus Palm Toronto and Montreal family were busy massaging hard and having fun. Our booth looked amazing with our posters, flyers, and all the efforts we put into designing and organizing for the show. My sister Suki, brother-in-law Neil, Tony, and Karin were busy scheduling massages and talking to people. I looked over at Véro and the 3 girls who came from Montreal to support me and I walked away from the chattering group to be with my Lotus Palm family. I took it all in and realized there was nowhere that I wanted to be more than right where I was. I was grounded, focused, and happy.

Funny how the little things in life can be all you need if you realize you are the happiest being right where you are!

Thanks to all our Toronto and Montreal participants at the Lotus Palm booth this year! I couldn't be happier or enjoy what I am doing if it wasn't for all of you. You took the time to be part of something that made someone else happy. I am truly grateful.

Ayurvedic Thai Therapy Level 1 bridges Thai Yoga Massage with its historical roots in Ayurveda and its profound philosophy. In this 12h workshop, you will learn how to adapt your yoga practice to your ayurvedic constitution (dosha) and the related seasons.

Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga. It’s a medicine that helps bring harmony and balance into your life. We will talk about the foundations of Ayurveda and its founding principles.

• Who are you according to Ayurveda?
• What are the major physical and mental characteristics of each dosha?
• How do the seasons affect us?
• Practical tips to harmonize
• Customized yoga practice
  (asanas: postures, pranayama: breathing and meditation)

There will be yoga practice and theory. A manual will be provided.

A practical, playful workshop!

This workshop is open to anyone, from occasional yoga practitioners to yoga teachers.
