How to prepare ghee
(clarified butter)

Clarified butter is used in many ways in Ayurveda (both in the kitchen and on the skin and as a medium to absorb remedies).

It has many benefits and you will love its wonderful hazelnut taste!

Practical Uses For:

Aniseed Essential Oil

The holiday feasts slowed down your digestive system and bloated?

Mix a few drops of aniseed in a vegetable oil such as sweet almond and use it for an abdominal massage or damp some gauze strips with hot water and a few drops of aniseed essential oil and apply it as a compress on the abdomen.

An anise seed infusion is also great to treat gastrointestinal problems.

* Warning: This oil is forbidden to children and pregnant women.

Moving Forward. Coming A Long Way.

In the far East, New Year is a tremendous time. In fact, it is sometimes celebrated for 2 weeks! Of course Chinese New Year is not until February 8th but I always like to marry the East and West traditions together.

It is important to “Clean House” and prepare for the New Year. We clean and sweep the entire house to start anew. Old things are put aside and we look forward to the future.

At Lotus Palm we have been preparing all year long to ring in the New Year with new programs and changes that elevates our profession like never before.

Indeed we have come a long way! Every year Lotus Palm grows and as we keep working diligently together, our program grows even stronger. As Thai Therapist and Practitioners, together we are transforming ourselves and the lives of others for the better.

What we do is “metta physical”!

Good health, good luck and much happiness throughout the year.

-Sukha Wong
Director of Lotus Palm

Herbal Compress Massage Level 1

February 5-7, 2016 in Montreal

Thai people have been using dried herbs to treat many different ailments in the body for hundreds of years. Typically, Thai herbal compresses are steamed and either applied through clothing or directly on the skin. Hot herbal compress massage (Luk Pra Kob) is deeply comforting and warm. It promotes relaxation while soothing aching or tired muscles and stiff joints and helps to increase the flow of energy in the body.

By using techniques of patting, gliding, rolling and pounding, essential oils are released from the heated compresses penetrating and absorbing deeply to relax and detoxify the body. This can benefit those with conditions such as inflamed joints, arthritis, fibromyalgia, soft tissue injuries, and has profound effects on the body.

After this hands-on 3-day intensive workshop, students will leave with a comprehensive knowledge of Thai herbal compress bundle making and take home their personalized herbal compresses.

Thai Yoga Massage & Myo-Fascial Release 1

February 17-21 in Montreal

This course will allow you to deepen your knowledge and practice in Thai massage postures. We will explore the underlining connective tissues (fascia) that may be creating restrictions movement, within the joints, tendons and muscles.

By understanding the fascinating world of 3-dimensional fascial chains throughout the body, you can find ways to release restrictions more effectively in your Thai yoga practice and excel your sensitivity of touch. Great for dealing with injuries and postural issues.

Testimonials from our students:

“The Thai Yoga Massage & Myo-Fascial Release course was a very enriching and humbling experience. Now I truly know how to listen to the body. The course was put into words and techniques that make such sense. We also tapped into the emotional aspects that go along with fascia releasing, and experienced first hand how powerful it is. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn to truly listen to the body and take their practice to this next level. Thank you with all my heart.”

- Jasmine de Jager
