Did you complete your Thai Yoga Massage training at Lotus Palm and are a member of the RMQ (Regroupement des Massothérapeutes du Québec)?

The following message is important and addressed to you:

Since its inception, Lotus Palm has been constantly advancing and we have been preparing for a long time to meet the growing demands of massage therapy associations. In addition, we are actively working to have Thai Yoga Massage acknowledged as a basic technique and have our training recognized by major associations. Fortunately for everyone, this is coming very soon!

Consequently, we need to update our program and Lotus Palm graduates practicing massage therapy in the province of Quebec and members of the RMQ will be required to take Common Core Courses.

To keep their active status, members of the RMQ who took the Lotus Palm program will be required, before mid-March 2021, to complete with passing grades all common core courses and exams:

  • Professional Ethics
  • Sexuality and Professional Practice
  • Helping Relationships & Interview Techniques
  • Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology level 1
  • Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology level 2
  • Final Written Program Exam.

Note: Before taking the Final Written Program Exam, all above classes must be completed with passing grades and the student must attend a 90-minute review class.

Members held by this grandfather clause have plenty of time. You will be able to remain an active member and continue your massage therapy practice for the next five (5) years to come, while rightfully continuing to issue receipts for your customers. However, it will be necessary to take all the mandatory Common Core Courses and submit proof of participation and success in these courses, otherwise you will not be able to renew your membership with the RMQ and quite possibly from other associations that are preparing to follow suit.

Starting in September 2016, Lotus Palm Institute of Thai Massage and Traditional Bodywork proposes new 400-hour formula for people undertaking a Thai Massage training. The mandatory Common Core Course are part of this program and will take place in our Montreal center.
