Practicing Thai Massage Professionally:
Course credits, licensing, associations, and insurance

Lotus Palm's courses and certification are accredited by many organizations and associations for the purpose of receiving liability insurance, writing receipts acceptable by health-care insurance, obtaining a license as well as contact hours as part of requirements by massage and yoga associations.

Recognition of Lotus Palm Courses

Since every province, state and country sets its own standards for massage, yoga and naturopathic work, we can provide some guidelines and resources where you can look for further information.
In Canada and the United States, Lotus Palm Certification makes it possible to join associations and apply for liability insurance. Belonging to a professional association can lend legitimacy to your practice and provide you with member services to help network, gain liability insurance, write receipts for your client's insurance, and build your business.

Practicing legally: know your obligations

Legal licensing requirements vary according to location; it is the practitioner's responsibility to be informed of, and to fulfill local legal requirements governing a given region. In Canada & the United States, massage is usually governed by state or provincial law, and then further under municipal regulation. In some cases Thai Massage can also fall under the category of naturopathic work as well as assisted yoga.
For a list of legal requirements pertaining to the practice of massage in Canada and the United States, please visit Massage Magazine.
