Nancy Owens, the founder of Less Stress Yoga, has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 10 years, gaining great recognition within the yoga-community and offering training courses that meet the standards of the Yoga Alliance. Less Stress holds weekly classes, which must be reserved in advance, and specialty workshops.

Teacher Training Workshops

Workshops are open to full-time students and those in continuing education, looking to pursue their education in yoga. Once completed, all training courses offered by Less Stress Yoga are credited towards a 500-hour teacher certification.

-Thai Yoga Massage
Students learn how to perform a complete one-hour massage from Jyothi Watenabe of the Lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage. This ancient practice provides enjoyment for both teacher and student, while at the same time relieving tension.

-Don’t make an Asana of Yourself
This workshop explains how to differentiate muscle from skeletal issues and how to choose the proper props according to body structure. The 12-hour course also includes a segment on vegetarian cooking.

-Muscles of Hatha Yoga
Drawing from Ray Long’s book The Key Muscles of Hatha Yoga, Less Stress offers a rigorous one-day training, equivalent to 200 credits. In this class students are directed towards the movement of the joints, muscles and ligaments.

-Gentle Yoga with a focus on Seniors
Gentle Yoga is directed at those with mental or physical illnesses, and the elderly. As a certified PACE instructor, Eugene Ingoglia brings with him the knowledge of many years experience working with seniors. Adjustments in yoga positions and individual needs are addressed in order to make yoga a positive experience for all.
